The meeting opened at 5:00pm in a magnificent temple in Great Queen Street, London. It was one of the largest meetings that Australia Lodge has had for a number of years, well attended by its own membership and guests. The meeting totaled around 60, with visiting Grand Officers and many other distinguished brethren.
The Master Elect was entrusted and took an oath to uphold the principles of the craft and Australia Lodge.
The ME was installed as the new Worshipful Master and afterwards presented to the assembled brethren by the Installing Master. Members of Australia Lodge paraded round the Lodge and saluted the new WM. The working tools in all degrees were presented in a most sincere and faultless manner.
The Worshipful Master installed his officers to assist him for the forthcoming year.
An antique Masonic Jewel, fittingly showing a kangaroo, was presented
to the WM by brethren of Old Palmerians Lodge No 5632
as a memento of the occasion.
